Mommy's lil pumpkin

Mommy's lil pumpkin
Friday
November 31st, 2008

Brody and I with a family friend and her daughter. They were born 3 days apart, Brody on the 1st and Brynlee on the 4th. This was before we put Brody's Halloween outfit on (mommy forgot to).

This year we got to spend Halloween in Rexburg Idaho with Anya, Aunt Sue, Uncle Levar, our cousin Jared, and Sue's mom Joy. It was one of the best Halloween's Iv had in a long time! I just love being around family. Like I said earlier, Anya totally fell in love with Brody. She couldn't keep her hands off of him! Brody liked to fall asleep on her, I guess that she is very comfortable. You cant really see it that good but this was Brody's first Halloween outfit, before he had a little accident in it.

Halloween night we all went out to eat at Apple Bee's. Two of Anya's friends from school also came with us, we had quiet the crowd. I know its hard to believe but my parents had never been to Apple Bee's before. The food was great and everyone enjoyed themselves including Mr. Bro Bro. He got a little cranky once but I just feed him and he was as happy as can be.

And there's mommy's little pumpkin in his cute little outfit! Everyone thought that he looked so adorable, he seemed to enjoy being a pumpkin too. Only the hat seemed to get on his nerves a few times.

After dinner we all went back to the hotel. Our hotel had an indoors swimming pool with a fun little area to sit and have breakfast and stuff. One of Anya's friends that came is really good at card tricks, and I mean really good. He did quiet a few for us, and no one could figure out how he was doing it! After card tricks we all got to enjoy being together and just talking. Sue and Lavar went and bought Monopoly, so we all played that.

Grandpa J's can always seem to calm Brody down no matter what. I'll have to admite that he gets him all settled down and even sometimes to sleep almost everynight. Those two boys have some kind of connection, Brody loves his Grandpa.

Our trip to Idaho

Our trip to Idaho

Thursday thru Sunday

October 30th-November 2nd 2008

I absolutely LOVE this picture. Its so cute because Anya's laughing and it looks like Brody's laughing right along with her!

Our family has been wanting to go and see Anya for quiet a while, we were going to visit her during mothers week but that didn't work out. So we decided to go up to Idaho and visit her for Halloween. This was Brodys first road trip. I was really excited because I wanted Anya to be at the hospital when I had Brody but she wasn't able to because of school, so she hadn't even seen him yet other then picture. We left early Thursday and drove all day. The first night we spend in Idaho Falls at my moms cousins house. Brody actually did really good the whole way up. He really only cried when he was hungry, I'd say he sleep 90% of the time. This picture is so cute because Evan decided to fall asleep on Brody's car seat. Well Brody didn't quiet know what to think of this, he just keep stairing at Evan, probably wondering why all of a sudden he was laying on top of his legs. It was the funniest thing, it went on for a good half an hour too until he finally gave in and fell asleep himself.

Thursday night we went out to eat with my mom's cousins family at Johny Corinos in Idaho Falls. It was fun to see them since really the only time we do is when we come to see Anya at college.

We were also very excited to go to Idaho because my dads brothers family that lives in Utah came up as well to visit us. Friday night we all stayed a hotel a few minutes from Anya's apartment. It was so much fun to see our family, its probably been at least 2 years since iv seen them. Everyone loved Brody and thought that he was so cute. Saturday we all decided to go bowling, this was lots of fun because it was Brody's first time being at a bowling Ali. We even tried Brody's bowling hand out. I know he cant really bowl yet but all his first's are still exciting for mommy!

After Bowling we went out to lunch at Crego's, Its a really good pizza place in Rexburg. Again it was just really good to be around family since we don't really live that close to any. Anya fell completely in love with Brody from the first time she saw him. She couldn't get enough of him! She always wanted to hold him, it was really cute. I'm really glad that my sister enjoys being around my son. I will admit that I did have a little mommy attitude though, sometimes I just wanted to hold him and everyone was always asking for him. So my mom and Anya had to remind me that I ALWAYS get to be with him, and she never gets to see him. So I put my feelings aside and let everyone else enjoy him. I'm still just in that new mommy stage where I never want to let him go, I'm sure it will wear off eventually.

Sadly all our family had to leave Saturday. We wish that we could have spent more time with them, but it was just great to see them. After they left we just spent all day with Anya, that night we went back to my moms cousins house for an early Thanksgiving dinner. Saturday was also Brody's one month birthday! I cant believe that hes only one month old in this picture, he looks so much older to me.

Eventually like all good vacations time ran up and we had to leave on Sunday. Everyone had such an awesome time. It was so good to be able to see Anya and spend time with her, we all talk to her on the phone quiet a bit, but its just not the same. I layed Brody down on the Bed while I was packing everything up and getting everything ready. I glanced over to see how he was doing and he was looking right at me, upside down! It was so stinkin cute I just had to take a picture of it, it even looks like he has a little smile on his face!

The ride home wasn't quiet as good as the ride there. Everyone was just plain tired of being in the car. And really who wouldn't be after 10 hours!

Football game

Football game

Tuesday
October 28th, 2008

This year was Evan's first year playing school football. He played reciever and corner back. Evan did an awsome job, we all really enjoyed going to watch him games, even baby Brody went to a few. I was preganant at two of him games, in fact I went to his Ellensburg game (it was a home one) and was induced at 6:00 that night. Brody was able to go to three of his games. This was Evans last game, they played Sunnyside and won of course.

Were you suprized, OF COURSE Brody's already a Prosser Mustangs fan! With an uncle like Evan how could he not be. Lynn Blair had the awsome idea to get this onsies for Brody. Thanks so much Lynn, everyone loved it. Everyone thought it was so cute and was wondering where we got it. Brody loves cheering uncle Evan on. Of course his idea of cheering is sleeping through the whole game, but I still call it cheering.

Sleeping baby

Shhh...Sleeping Baby

October 2008

There is something special about a sleeping baby. Brody just looks so precious and sweet when he is asleep. Like a little angel sent straight from heaven to me. I know that's there's quiet a few of them here, but I just couldn't resist...they are so cute! I especially love when he moves his lips or makes little sounds when hes sleeping, so precious.

Brody's frist babysitter

Brody's first babysitter
Friday
September 24th, 2008

It's Friday in Prosser, and you all know what that means....football night! But tonight was not just any football night, it was homecoming. Well Tawnya and I decided that we had to go to the game, at least until half time.

Last night my friend Jamie hopwood had her little boy korbyn. So we decided to take a trip down to the hospital to see them. He is Brody's first friend his age and he is sooo adorable. He actually reminded me of Brody when he was born, but then again I always hear that newborns all look alike. Seeing a little newborn really made me realize how much Brody has grown, he's a beast! I cant believe how fast he is growing and how much he is changing. Its like he is doing something new everyday, he is definitely keeping us all on our toes, not wanting to miss anything.

I have left Brody with my mom before, only once though and only for about an hour and a half and that was to work out. So when Tawnya and I left Brody with her husband Shad I was a little nervous, not for Shad because I know hes really good with kids, but just nervous to leave my baby and to be without him. I made sure to feed him right before we left so that he would be nice and happy. We were gone for a good 2 hours. When we got back Brody was just laying on a blanket on the ground as happy as can be. Shad said he only got fussy a few times when he was holding him and he finally figured out it was because his hair on his chin was scratching his check. He said that it even sounded like he was laughing a few times. I was very happy to hear that Brody was a good boy, I would have felt so bad if he would have cried the whole time. But as soon as he realized I was back he started crying his hungry cry. I swear sometimes I feel like all I am is a milk machine! Its like when I'm not around he's fine but as soon as I come around he smells me and associates that with eating. But I guess I don't mind, I love my little man. So Brody got to have a fun guys night out with Shad!

AND.....Its an inny!

AND...Its an inny!

Monday

October 20th, 2008

I swear things are falling off left and right. Yesterday the plastic bell and today his little breastfeeding calais and his belly button! I had been looking forward to this because Iv been wanting to give him a real bath soooo bad. I went to change his clothes this morning and it just fell right onto the bed. At first I was like what the heck is that, thinking it might be poop or something, but then I saw his cute little belly button. And you all know what that means...bath time! I was so excited to give him a bath, I never thought something like giving someone a bath could be so exciting. Becoming a mommy really does change you. When I first put him in it he had the same exact look on his face as he does in the picture, like he doesn't quiet know what to think, only he was wailing his arms around. But once he kind of figured out mommy wasn't going to let anything bad happen he loved it. He loved getting his hair and body washed. In fact he cried when I took him out.

But once I got him all raped up in his towel he stoped crying and started enjoying himself again. He loved to lay there all wrapped up in his towel and smile at mommy. He was just chattin my head off the whole time, it was so adorable.

He loves to be pampered already! After I dried him off and got his diaper on he couldnt get enough of mommy massaging lotion all over him, especially him leggs and feet. Massaging his feet and leggs always sooths and calms him down, I find this funny because when I was in labor Lynn did the same thing to me and it felt great and calmed me down, I guess the apple doesnt fall far from the tree after all. His little belly button is so cute, I think thats another one of those mom things. Its an inny of course, pretty much everyone in the family has an inny. But of course his is the cutest.

Even Brody has bad days

Even Brody has bad days

Saturday

October 18th, 2008

This is how the day started, how the whole day went, and how the day ended! Yes, Brody was VERY VERY grumpy today, and I mean VERY! He woke up a little crabby. So I feed him, expecting him to be fine after that, which is usually the case. Well little did I know, nothing was going to be fine after that. At first I thought that I had just eatin something bad, I just couldn't figure out what it was. I have been trying to be very careful about what I eat so I don't upset his tummy. The only thing I could think of was fish and chips, but the doctor told me that fish was good for babies. Then my mom and I thought that he might still be hurting from his circumcision that he got on Tuesday, but the doctor said that he shouldnt be in much pain (which I do not believe, how can that not hurt). So realizing that really there was nothing I could do we all just lived through the constant crying.

This was not like Brody at all, I swear he is usually an angel. My mom and I were praying that he wasn't turning into one of those rotten kids. But to our luck, eventually his energy ran out and my little man crashed!

Sunday

October 19th, 2008

I went to change Brody's diaper this morning and found a pleasant surprise. When Brody was circumcised they used the plastic bell method which is supposed to fall off in 5 - 8 days. I really wanted it to fall off already because it did not look like it felt too comfortable. Today was day 5 and what do you know, it fell off! Only one problem, it only fell off half way. It was like his skin had grown over part of the string and it was now embedded into it, causing it to be all swollen and red. It eventually fell off later in the day with some help from mom and grandma. Looks like we found the answer to why he was so dang crabby yesterday!

Tummy Time

Tummy Time
Friday
October 17th, 2008

I have always heard that its good to give your baby tummy time but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. All of my friends that have babies told me that they felt the same way but eventually they did it and their babies loved it. I had been telling my mom "I need to give Brody some tummy time", but that was always the end of it. I don't really know why I didn't want to, I think that I just felt bad for poor little Brody all little and helpless laying on him tummy with not a single thing that he could do about it. So I'm guessing that my mom just got sick of me talking about it but never doing anything about it and finally just did it herself. At first he just really didn't know what to do, the poor little guy. He had this look on his face like he didn't really know what was going on and he wasn't quiet sure if he liked it or not.

He kept looking at us out of the corner of his eye, it was the most hilarious thing to see. It was almost like he was thinking "who are you and why are you doing this to me." He laid there for a little bit, just kicking his legs around and wondering what to do. He actually did a great job at lifting his head and moving it from side to side. Hes really been doing a great job at lifting his head lately, hes getting so strong already! Especially when I burp him over my shoulder, He'll lift his head for a while and then he doesn't know what to do so he slams it back on my shoulder. But he never cries, he's a little trouper. So our little tummy time didn't last too long because once he makes up his mind that he doesn't like something he makes sure that everyone knows it. Little Mr. Started screaming and crying. Maybe we'll just stick to Wiggle Time.

Thank You!!

Thank You!!

I would like to thank all of my family and friends and everyone else who has supported me and been there for me from the bottom of my heart. I don't think that everyone quiet understands what an impact you have had on me and how much you have helped not only me but also my family. I couldn't have done it without all of the love that was shown my way. I will never forget how giving loving and unselfish all of my family and friends have been. Again I thank you and appreciate all that you have done more than you will ever know.

Brodys Bad Day

Brody's Bad Day
Tuesday
September 14th, 2008
Today Brody, my mom and I went into the doctor for his second doctors appointment. Everything went good at first, he gained weight and now weighs 11 pounds. He also grew a half an inch so hes now measuring at 22 inches and his head is 15 inches around. So hes keeping up his nickname of "Lil big man". Then the hard part came, mommy had to leave her little boy with the doctor, Brody was scheduled to be circumcised today. It was so hard for me to just hand Brody off to the nurse, but I really didn't want to see it and be in the room. The doctor also advised us not to stay in the room, that it was too traumatizing for family members to see. So I went out in the waiting room until he was done. When the doctor came and got us I was expecting Brody to be crying, but nothing like the way he was acting. I have never heard him cry so loud so hysterically and for so long. The doctor was trying to say something to me and explain what it would look like and show me pictures, but once the nurse gave Brody to me I didn't even care what the doctor was saying, I couldn't concentrate on anything but my son. So thank goodness my mom was there so my doctor just explained everything to her. It absolutely broke my heart to see him like that. I wanted to cry so bad, the tears were right there but it was almost like I was too sad and worried to cry. Now I feel bad that I didn't cry though because I always hear moms saying that they cried when there sons got circumcised. Today was the first time that I have actually seen tears come out of Brody's eyes. He was cried plenty of times, but its just were he kind of makes the crying noise, but no tears come out. Well today actual tears came out, and that broke my heart. I felt so bad for him all day, he was one crabby little man. I was even scared to change his diaper. Its really hard to see him like this but like my mom said, he will thank me for it later.

Baby talk!

Baby Talk!

Sunday
October 12th, 2008

I'm trying to teach Brody that he doesn't need to be held every second of everyday. Don't get me wrong, he is an amazingly good baby, but he seems to think that he is the happiest when he is in someones arms. Today my dad just laughed and told me "You better train that boy or else he is ganna train you." So after church I layed him on the ground in the family room for what I like to call some "wiggle time". Hes usually fine as long as someone is laying there with him, he especially likes it when I lay him down so that he can look out the window or at a light. I like to lay next to him while he holds my finger and say wiggle wiggle in silly baby voices (that I thought I would never use, that all changed when I became a mom), it always seems to get an almost smile out of him. This time while I was using my Silly baby voices I not only got an almost smile out of little Brody but for the first time I also got some baby talk out of him! It was so adorable! He sounded so cute with his little baby voice. So now Brody has officially started his baby talk and mommy couldn't be more excited!

Bath time!

Bath time
Thursday and Saturday
October 2nd and 4th

The nurse washing Brodys hair at the hospital
His ANGRY face (first bath)

First bath from mommy

Its devastating...I know

Brody has officially had his first bath! well more like just washing his hair, but its still exciting. Only one problem, he doesn't seem to enjoy them to much...I'm sure you can tell from the pictures. I can understand why he didn't like his first bath at the hospital though, first of all it wasn't mommy doing it and second the nurse used cold water. When we went back to the hospital for our appointment 4 days later the nurse said that baby's LOVE to have their hair washed and they just enjoy it sooo much, well judging from his pictures I wouldn't really say that he loves it! You would think that we were traumatizing the pour little guy. Hopefully he gets over this stage soon so mommy doesn't have to feel bad every time we wash his hair.

Picture time!

Picture time
Sunday
October 5th, 2008

I love this picture, how were just gazing into each others eyes. This is defiantly a kind of love I have never known. A mothers love truly is the strongest kind of love, I'm learning this more and more everyday.

You might not be able to tell from this picture, but Brody has humongous feet! And I'm talking big, but they are so adorable. His big toe always makes me laugh, its so big and long. When I play with his toes he always curls them over my fingers, I swear their so long they could be fingers themselves!

Haha this picture makes me laugh, this is Brody's I want to eat RIGHT NOW face. It doesn't matter if its a boob or not, whatever is within reach of his mouth, watch out cause hes going for it.

Brody's first photo shot, well no actually I take that back, from the second he was born the poor kid has been on a constant none stop photo shot. My mom LOVES to take pictures of him, but I'm glad cause she takes better ones then I do. These pictures were all taken by Sunny Wright, she did an awesome job! Thanks so much Sunny, you were great. We went over to her house when he was 4 days old to get these newborn pictures. From the time he was born until this day he was a perfect angel, hardly made a peep the whole time. My mom could get any picture she wanted of him and he wouldn't complain one single bit. So of course he choose this day to be his first crabby one. He wouldn't stop fussing. The first few pictures we got he was good, so we thought everything would be fine. But then he decided that he just wanted to be held, so every time I put him down he would start crying! Were lucky that we got this many good pictures. Sunny can work miracles though. I'm so glad that I got newborn pictures, Its crazy how fast these little ones grow. Hes already a completely different baby.
